Biography:  I was born in Long Beach, Ca. and lived in Paramount, Ca. until age 7. In 1945 we moved to Dolores, Co. to our family farm. Returned to Ca. in 1948, to Norwalk Ca. and lived in that area until I was drafted in 1961. Did basic at Ft. Ord, Ca. After Basic assigned to Ft Gordon, Ga. From there assigned to Ft Sill, Ok. and the 546th mp co. With the intent to make the army a career, I re-uped, and went from US to RA. Assigned to Oakland Army Terminal. A great assignment. I was there for 90 days and was re-assigned to Panama. During pre deployment leave I married, Nancy Willard on Sept. 1962, with the intention that she would join me in Panama, after I got settled.

I was aboard the MSTS Upshur at Gitmo. Along with Roger Francis and several others. After we went back to Norfolk Navy Base, they put us aboard some old C-47s and flew us to Panama.

In June of 1964, Nancy was killed in a car accident and I got an emergency re-assignment to Ft. MacArthur, Ca. She was only 21 years old.

I got out of the Army a couple of months early due to being a single father. I kicked around the aerospace industry as a machinist for 12 years. During that time I met and married my 2nd wife Sherry Haggerty. We were married for 8 stormy years and on Memorial Day 1973 I walked out and got a amicable divorce. We remained friends until she died of cancer in 2010. We had 2 daughters together.

In 1973 I met the love of my life. Carolyn Eldon. She had 2 early teenagers, that I now regard as my own. We married in 1974 and had a wonderful life together. In 1975 she suggested That I go see if I could get on at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. They had an immediate opening for a maintenance machinist and that started my career with the DOD. In 1975 a buddy of mine suggested we go try out for the Air Force Reserve. We did and we became reservists. At first I was an Air Policeman for a few months. Later I became a machinist.

We RV'd a lot going to the East coast and down South and Up North and where ever we wanted to go.

At the time we didn't know that we would only have 9 years. My beautiful Carolyn died of brain cancer in 2007.

We had nearly 33 years of happy life together. I still have my faith in God, my kids and grandkids and circle of friends and now am getting re-acquainted with old friends. God Is Good.
